Kitchen Cabinets

The Washington Kitchen Gallery
301-831-1016
After being exclusively in the tile and stone business for nearly 50 years, we decided to expand and add kitchen cabinets to our business. Now we are in the unique position to offer complete design and integration of your kitchen. It’s a lot easier for you to choose your countertops and cabinets at the same time, in one location, working with design experts who can help you coordinate all aspects of your remodeling job. The result is our division: "The Washington Kitchen Gallery"
We never pressure our customers. In fact, the first thing we tell you, whether you’re shopping for cabinetry or countertops, is “Don’t expect to make any decisions today.” We usually see a sigh of relief because they’re overwhelmed with the process and all the choices they face.
Come check out our full-service showroom where you can see many different ways to coordinate cabinets, countertops, backsplashes, fixtures and flooring. We have plenty of accessories, too. The only limit? Your imagination! We are located in Ijamsville, MD and serve the entire state of Maryland and the Washington DC Metro area.
A Real Kitchen Nightmare: Doing It Yourself
Most of our clients are first time remodelers. But, until they’re in the middle of their remodeling project, they usually have no idea how many decisions they’ll have to make. A typical kitchen or bathroom project contains about 30 different components. How do you want your cabinets to function? What drawers go where? What accessories do you need? How do you cook? Those are the questions clients usually don’t consider before they head out to the home improvement store. It can become overwhelming to figure everything out on your own, especially when even the smallest component can make a big difference in how things turn out.
That’s where a designer can really make a difference, helping make order out of the chaos, helping you make easier, more confident decisions about your new kitchen or bath.
Coordinating Cabinets and Countertops Means a Better Finished Project
Many times customers come to us looking for countertops after they’ve already purchased the cabinets someplace else. Since most cabinet companies don’t sell countertops, there isn’t much consideration given to matching countertop colors and patterns with cabinet woods and finishes, so when they get to us, they realize we can offer so many different choices to create a better match that will make their kitchen look even better than they thought.
Every kitchen project has a key piece that drives all the other choices a client makes. Let’s say you fall in love with a particular wall tile, or you find the perfect countertop. Now you want to know what color and finish of cabinet works best with your other “must have” elements. Everything needs to coordinate and that’s one of the nice things about being able to see it all at the same time in one place.
Here’s a good example from one of our designers:
“A client of ours wanted do a painted cabinet. Well, in the white cabinets alone there are seven different colors of white you can choose from. And then they wanted to do a glaze, which led to even more choices. So it was really great for them to work with a designer right from the beginning because everything could be coordinated much more efficiently and, actually, wound up saving them money, too.”
We’ll Finish Faster Because We Coordinate Everything
A remodeling project takes a lot of planning, a good deal of coordination and even a little bit of luck. We work with our clients on the planning process right from the start. If a builder or general contractor is involved, we usually meet with them before they get to the construction phase so that they know what’s coming. That way we can all coordinate schedules to minimize the time that it takes to get things done.
Best of all, when we handle both the cabinets and countertops we never have to depend on an independent contractor who may, or may not, be able to meet our deadlines. We’ll always be able to deliver a completed project on time and on budget. And while there are always unavoidable disruptions and inconveniences during any remodeling project, we always try and figure out what’s happening and get through it as quickly as possible, because we know a remodeling job isn’t truly finished until the customer can not only admire their new kitchen, but actually use it!
